I see a conflict of interest glaring in our media. The media needs controversy, and because ratings are king, and the ratings seem to depend more on conflict than truth they have been largely responsible for the growing divisions in our country. I'm not just talking about Fox News, it seems to be everywhere.
The main stream media doesn't cover the President in a positive light, they haven't for over a year. They don't ask tough questions of Mitt Romney, they let him make his carefully crafted evasive talking points and that's it folks. Yet they will cover all the bull that anyone they can find cares to throw out there. They want the political race to be tight, because a blowout race does them no good. Controversy, fear, angst, name calling, baseless accusations...all these things get lots of coverage....but positive news?....not on our network.
The news needs a cliff, with someone standing on it thinking about committing suicide, while one of the producers is holding up a sign saying JUMP!
Drama sells. Baseless accusations sell. How long have we listened to people asking the President of the United Statesfor his birth certificate? Why does the news still give these fools even a minute of their time? Drama. Controversy. Viewers talking. That's why. What happened to the truth? What happened to telling someone....hey buddy....we're not going to give you a microphone and turn our cameras on you for that idiocy....that story is over. No, you have to keep it going....you all need the ratings.
A house divided against itself cannot stand. And our house has never been so divided. Thanks to greed, not just on the part of Billionaires, but on everyone involved in the process.....the Radio Talking heads....Fox News, Huffington Post, CNN ABC NBC the Drudge Report, and on and on and on...it never seems to stop. For any stations or blogs, or online misinformation enterprises, don't think of me as biased, I am just too tired to list them all....because they all are guilty of the same thing.
If you want to be journalists, start acting like actual journalists again. Don't sit there, unprepared accepting what they say because you are unaware they are lying, If you cannot prepare yoursleves to have an intelligent interview, then find another carreer! It's too important to our country for you to act like a journalist. Anyone can hold a microphone up to someones face and nod their head no matter what they are told. Any fool can do that.
When the next idiot says they want a copy of Obamas birth certificate tell them to go talk to the national enquirer. When Mitt Romney says he doesn't want to release his tax returns, don't have him on every network so he can just repeat a stupid and obvious lie. Show the tape of his own admission that blind trusts are a ruse. Not showing that, when you know it exists is malpractice if you are going to call yourselves journalists.
I am getting to the point where I just don't give a damn about it anymore. You are all acting like you are insane, and you all follow such short term, personal agendas that you forget we are a country, and we have problems that need solving, and honest, genuine people to solve them. For pete's sake, this country is so out of touch that Sarah Palin was almost elected vice president!
Other than President Obama, I don't trust a single one of you. I know a good man when I see one, and he seems to be one of the few adults in the nation, let alone the room.
